{"id":5278,"date":"2023-03-01T19:02:26","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T07:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bhv.org.nz\/?page_id=5278"},"modified":"2023-03-01T19:02:26","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T07:02:26","slug":"emergency-evacuation-procedures","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bhv.org.nz\/index.php\/emergency-evacuation-procedures\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency Evacuation Procedures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>In the event of a FIRE<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">Inform ALL people in the building of the fire.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">DO NOT attempt to put out the fire unless trained in the use of the fire extinguishers and these can be accessed without danger<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">Evacuate the building via the nearest clear exit as follows:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"ul2\">\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">Ground Level \u2013 through either\u00a0<b>EXIT<\/b>\u00a0doors at the ends of the stadium or the front door through the main foyer<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">Upstairs lounge, kitchen or spectator seating \u2013 down any of the four main stairways from the spectator seating area, or from the lounge\u00a0<b>EMERGENCY EXIT<\/b>\u00a0stairway, and then through either of the\u00a0<b>EXIT<\/b>\u00a0doors or front door.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">Once outside ring the Fire Brigade \u2013 Dial 111<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">Assemble on the lawns at the eastern end of the Hall building.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">All\u00a0<b>EXITS<\/b>\u00a0are clearly signposted and emergency lighting over the doors and on the stairways down to the stadium floor will operate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>DO NOT<\/b>\u00a0re-enter the building until an All-Clear is given by the Fire Brigade and\/or the active Emergency Warden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>EMERGENCY WARDENS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The Event Coordinator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The Building Manager.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Any attending Executive Committee Member \u2013 if more than 1 in attendance a pre-selected Officer will take overall control.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The Health and Safety Officer if in attendance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">If a designated Warden is not in attendance users of the Hall are personally responsible for ensuring this procedure is followed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>In the event of an EARTHQUAKE<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">DO NOT evacuate unless instructed to do so by the active Emergency Warden.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">If on the stadium floor move to the base of the spectator seating area on the main stadium floor\u00a0<b>AWAY<\/b>\u00a0from the overhead lights and lounge windows, otherwise\u00a0<b>DROP, COVER, HOLD\u00a0<\/b>wherever you may be, keeping clear of windows.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">If an Evacuation signal is given assemble on the grass areas to the eastern end of the Hall.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>NOTE:\u00a0<\/b>In the event of a strong earthquake the noise may be very loud but this is not an indicator of damage occurring to the building.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the event of a FIRE Inform ALL people in the building of the fire.
